Alma Galvan, BrainWorx Founder

"Unlock the ADHD Puzzle Using Powerful Insights on Brain Development"

Key Points About Our Discussion

In this enlightening interview with Alma Galvan, we delve into the profound impact of brain development on ADHD. Alma explains the importance of early brain centers, emphasizing how reflexes and activities like tummy time are crucial for distinguishing real threats. Underdeveloped brains may react to non-threats, leading to ADHD symptoms. She also discusses how negative beliefs affect individuals with ADHD. Alma shares valuable insights gained over the years, reflecting on the knowledge she wishes she had from the start, offering hope and understanding for those navigating ADHD. If you have a child with ADHD, or suspect they’re an ADHD kiddo, you need to watch this session!

Speaker Bio

In 1996, both of Alma's children were diagnosed with severe autism, ADHD, Sensory Disorder, and more. Two doctors even told her to put her oldest son in an institution and move on with her life. That's where her journey began...

It took her over 7 years to discover some powerful new techniques that were scientifically proven to promote brain development. They literally changed her life!

When she started using these techniques, her children's challenges improved more in just a few months than in all the 7 years combined. In fact, the changes were so dramatic that other parents noticed and started asking her to work with their children.

That's how BrainWorx was born. For the past 20 years she has worked with thousands of families to help their children overcome anxiety, overwhelm, distractibility, foggy thinking, procrastination and much more. What she has found was that movement changes the brain, which allows us to have more functions, and having more functions allows us to have greater ease in life.

Sonali Vongchsiri, Sensitivity, Needs and Regulation Parent Coach

"When You LOVE Your Child But You Don't LIKE them: Handling Frustration and Resentment."

Key Points About Our Discussion

In this insightful interview with Sonali, we explore the crucial distinction between feeling loved and liked (because let’s face it, sometimes it feels like we really don’t like our child!). Sonali emphasizes that kids need to know they are both loved and liked, as feeling like a burden can lead to negative emotions (and challenging behaviours). We may sometimes want to escape, not from our child, but from our own overwhelming emotions. She advises recognizing these emotions and choosing how to respond, focusing on actions future selves would be proud of. She shares strategies for teaching kids that their emotions are safe and how to channel these emotions productively. Ultimately, she highlights that it's about the energy parents bring to their relationship with their child, not just the words they use.

Speaker Bio

Sonali is a highly-sensitive mom, with three deeply-feeling and strong-willed kids. It took a whole lot of time to see that just because her kids didn't respond to parenting methods the way experts said they would, and just because her family didn't fit society's ideal of a "perfect family," she wasn't a bad mom and she wasn't raising spoiled, snowflake kids. In fact, now she knows for sure, that they rock! Sonali is your sensitivity, needs and regulation go-to-gal. And, she also happens to be legally blind and has albinism. When she finally realized she didn’t need to “fit in” to “belong”, it gave her permission to find her own way. And now she supports others in doing the same.

Her work is dedicated to sharing with parents how it's possible to have fun with high needs kids and to raise them to be kind and compassionate. Because she gets it - both from being THAT kid, and from having THOSE kids.
